Tall Bikes

I would love to build a tall bike someday when I have space for a workshop.  But for now I just have to wonder how they get on and off of those things!

Ode To Yats

I'm going to break my new photo blog tradition for a quick Ode to Yats.

Yats is one my favorite traditions when I return home to Indianapolis.  I ALWAYS stop by for a meal.  It's a Cajon Creole quick food restaurant with incredibly delicious food, a wonderful atmosphere, and overall a great personality.  The workers are always in a great mood and greet you with the cool cat, laid back attitude shared by the gracious owner, Joe - who can be frequently found clearing tables and running dishes out to patiently waiting customers.

To any visitors to Indy, I highly recommend stopping by for a casual meal - there are locations downtown, in Broad Ripple (the original and best location), and on the north and south sides.

A huge plate of food costs about $7.50.  Their menu is always changing (it's written on a chalkboard in the picture on the right below) so you never know what to expect.  You can try a dish before you buy it to make sure you'll enjoy it.  If you can't decide, go with most popular Chili Cheese Etoufee and you will be sure to love it!

I love YATS!

On the Ceiling of the Duck Tour

Look up during a Duck Tour... not at the buildings but the roof over your head and you might just see something like this!

The Big Dig

I can only imagine what this view would look like if the Big Dig never happened.

Green Line Tunnel

Oh the Green Line, Boston's Oldest and most painful subway experience.  The sudden turns of the over capacity cars as they whip down a 100 year old track is an experience that starts fun and quickly degrades if its your daily routine.  Luckily, I live along the Red Line and only get to experience the Green Line on occasion.  I recently had such occasion and took a picture of the tunnel for your viewing pleasure.

Blue Lights at Night

Old Building, New Lighting.  I like the glow of the blue lights behind the columns at the Christian Science Center in Boston.  It makes for an eye catching photo.

Boston Approaching Sunset

I like to ride my bike as much as possible for two reasons - it's the fastest way to get around the city AND gives me the most opportunities to take great pictures!  Here's Boston just before sunset in the fall.

Who Brings Bees?

There was a booth at a local street market with live bees flying around.  It was a bit alarming (as seen on the blurry faces of the ladies in the background) to have hundreds of bees within a few feet of oneself, but I'm not allergic so what's the worst that could happen.  I snuck in close enough to get this picture before I headed on my way down the market sting free.

North End Cantina

An italian cantina in the north end - one of hundreds but by far the coolest looking sign.

Historic Sign

I recently discovered the HDR feature on my camera.  It take 3 consecutive shots of differing exposure and layers them together.  This allows objects that are traditionally dark, to be seen (the dark objects are filled in with light from a shot with higher exposure).  You can see the before and after below.  I still have a lot to learn with this feature, but it will be powerful!

West Coast Sunset

This is probably one of the best sunsets I have ever seen.  Look close, there's mountains on the horizon.

Calm Cloudy Night Part 3

Sorry for the monotony.  There were about 20 of these shots that I wanted to share, but these three were the best.

Calm Cloudy Night Part 2

I like the vertical symmetry provided by the water.

Cloudy Calm Night Part 1

It was a cloudy but calm night, and I managed to get some cool shots of Boston.  This is the first of 3 that I will post.

Old Bridge

I took this picture on my bike ride home one night.  This is the Longfellow Bridge railing lit up by my LED bike light.  You may recognize the bridge a from the first picture in this blog post... or not.

A Walk for "Something" Every Weekend

Every weekend in Boston, there is a walk for something.  I'm all for a good cause, but sometimes I wonder how many different walks on city can host.  Here's the one of the two or three walks on the Esplanade in one weekend.
